Vegas Update

So we had a fantastic time in Vegas!! We rode the roller coaster in New York New York, saw all the casinos, and went to see a show called Hypnolarious. Debbie was one of the volunteers who went up on stage and got hypnotised(that's her in the green on stage)! It was really fun and funny.


I also did my first gambling--and beginner's luck did prevail. I won at the roulette table four times in a row, then quickly cashed out--started with $20 and walked away 5 minutes later with $101!! Then at the Blackjack table, I put down $45 and left with $67. So all in all, it was a great time! Debbie showed the three of us "the way of the slot machine." She's a pro at slots! When we weren't out and about, we layed by the pool and relaxed. It was so so so much fun.
Chelsea and Debbie just left LA late last night, getting back to Atlanta this morning. We miss them already! Friday night Debbie made a big Southern dinner and we had Susan over. Yummy! She made Coca-cola ham steaks, turnip greens, hoppin' john, and I made mashed potatoes. It felt good to have Mom's cooking!Now I'm off to work to rejoin the real world!

Homeward Bound

I got my plane tickets to come to Atlanta!! Yea!
Since I'm pretty sure only my family reads this, I wanted to let everyone know the concrete details for my trip home for Chelsea's Bridal Shower next month. Unfortunately, Ryan can't take off of work in October and then again in December for the wedding, so I have to come alone. :(
I'll leave LA at 9:50pm (Airtran Flight #60) on Wednesday, October 26, arriving in Atlanta the next morning at 5:02am--early!! If anyone is just dying to wake up at the crack of dawn, let me know. :) I'm perfectly happy to jump in a cab to the Marta station, though! My tentative schedule is to hook up with Robin Heather, and pals sometime Thursday, help with any shower details on Friday, and have a blast at Chelsea's shower on Saturday! Then I get to spend the morning and afternoon in Atlanta on Sunday because my flight doesn't leave to return until 5:55pm (Airtran flight #43).
I am SO excited!!! See you Southern folks soon!!

Bleedin' Fingers

Well, I have decided that I will become a blues musician. My blues name will be Bleedin Fingers. I got the idea while I listened to the Dawg game today.

I just finished my last canister of O2, and it looks like we squeaked one out. Coach Richt said before the game, "I'll take a one point win." Well, we did better than that. In fact 100% better than that.

After 10 years, we finally beat Dr. Evil between the hedges. Spurrier, never known for his warm Christian love towards Georgia, was the coach of the only team to score 50 points at Sanford Stadium.

I won't be the first person to cast a stone, at least not one for a 2 point win...
But I will be the second or third...

Anyways, Thomas Brown gets my Dawg of the game award. Brown ran for a career high 144 yards, and best of all, when he was interviewed after the game, he sounded like Mushmouth. "I-ba was doin' the-ba best-ba I-ba could-ba." (he busted his lip early in the game)

Honorable mention goes to Gordon Ely-Kelso. He had a couple of really long kicks and got some help from the ground trainers. Those are the guys that teach the grass how to give us a good bounce, and a bad one to everyone else.

I believe that he might be moving into the same category as two of the great kickers of our time; Billy Bennett, and the late, great Keith "Special K" Dykes.
Keith is still alive, but "bait" didn't really go well with great.


Has anyone realized that for the last 5 years, this game has been decided in the waning minutes of the fourth, and the winning scores have been less than a touch down?

And what of DJ?
Well Shockley and Mitchell (SC's QB, check your program) both came in as the highest rated QBs, and both left with 2 INTs.
It was just an ugly game. But at least Shockley walked another in...

"walked" should actually have read "flipped."



Arguably the biggest clutch play was the missed extra point early in the game forcing the Cocks to have to go for two later.
Maybe Bobby B. Was able to pass that kind curse off to his old "buddy" from U of F. He didn't seem to suffer from it this year.
Maybe Spurrier will never escape the bad decision he made when he left U of F. Don't worry I won't lose any sleep over it.

How 'bout dem dawgs

Well, game one is over.
Quick story...
Fellow came in to my store and decided to talk some football (west coasters know nothing of SEC football). He was asking me what I thought about our chances. Apparently, he put money on Boise to beat UGA by more than 7. I said, "are you serious, didn't you want to make money?"
So he was all, "they have lost their best players, and Boise has all of theirs returning, plus they scored more points last year than the teams save for USC."
So I was all, "yeah but who'd they play last year?
"Well, they did pretty well against Louisville."

Does anyone see where I am going with this? This guy was a moron. Anyways, I tried to tell him that we are not going to play a hard team for our first game, and to that he said that they had scheduled that before Boise got quote unquote big.

I finally said, "brother, good luck to you, I hope for your sake that you come up, but don't be surprised by a big loss for Boise."

Well the game is over, and Georgia beat the tar outta those spud lovin boys from Idaho.

Final score 48-13... How 'bout dem dawgs!!

I cannot watch much Georgia football out here, and even less now that we don't have cable. So I bought a subscription to listen to the games on my computer. Only 10 bucks a month. Whoa only 10 you say? Yes! 10 bucks gets me some Larry on Saturdays and some sweet live pictures from the sidelines as well as video highlights. Lets see some...


Shockley had a great day throwing for 5 touchdowns (tying a school record) and ran another in himself... Shockley... It's about time you were given your chance. You waited a long time to get here, and you stuck with it, that says a lot about you...


Whoever said our defense wouldn't stack up to last years... Well they were probably right, but still, the D-line makin it look easy. Plus 4 interceptions in the first half, last year I think we only had 5 all season.



It looks as though towards the end, they let us just walk right into the endzone. It doesn't get much easier than this. Look at the bronco faithful, it's heart breaking, they really thought they had a chance...

With all that said I think Boise will only enjoy one week in the top 25. Easy come easy go. Right ponies? Err Broncos.
